Six short films have been selected by Gaylene Preston as finalists for our annual New Zealand’s Best Short Film Competition.

One of those finalists is the film ‘Waiting’ directed by Amberley Jo Aumua and written by Samuel Kamu.

Waiting was also selected to screen during the 12th annual Wairoa Maori Film Festival in their Kiriata Pasifika programme (June 2-5).

Kamu and Aumua are graduates of Unitec Institute of Technology’s bachelor of performance and screen arts degree and made the film as part of their final year study requirements.

Amberley was also part of the PIFT Coco-Shorts Writers programme in 2016.

Congrats Amberley and Samuel.
