Story Camp Aotearoa 2017   Applications Open!

Story Camp is a residential feature film workshop that fosters craft, voice and vision. Talented NZ screenwriters and filmmakers workshop their projects with exceptional international and local advisors.

Each selected writer or team undergoes a rigorous five-day experience designed specifically to meet the development needs of their feature film project. The process for each participant is made up of some or all of the following development techniques: one-on-one script sessions, project-based group workshops, read-throughs, and workshopping with actors.

Writers’ key collaborators are involved in parts of the process in instances where that is of additional benefit to the project. Past participants can re-apply if their project has progressed significantly, and sessions can be tailored for writers and directors with projects in an advanced development phase.

Past international advisors have included legendary US screenwriter Joan Tewkesbury (MCCABE & MRS. MILLER, THIEVES LIKE US and NASHVILLE) filmmaker & Artistic Director of the Sundance Directors’ Lab Gyula Gazdag, Hollywood writer & longstanding Sundance mentor Michael Goldenberg (HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX), Academy Award and BAFTA winning screenwriter David Seidler (THE KING’S SPEECH), and revolutionary Mexican screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga (AMORES PEROS, 21 GRAMS, BABEL).

If you are in Auckland, come along to our Story Camp talk on Thursday June 22. Find out more about the process from former participants, and talk to the Script to Screen team who will be there to answer questions about the application and selection process.

If you live outside of Auckland please do email or call us at the Script to Screen office with any questions.
