P.I.F.T. (Pacific Islanders in Film & Television) is an association of Pacific islands practitioners in film and television based in Aotearoa which officially established in November 2015.
The goals of PIFT are simple; to act as a networking mechanism for practitioners, to help build capacity in the industry of and for practitioners, and to act as a bridge between practitioners, producers, governmental interests and other relevant organisations. The 2018 Board is – Ngaire Fuata (producer), Sandra Kailahi (producer), Adrian Stevanon (producer), Kim Tuaine (entrepreneur), Jeremiah Tauamiti (director/producer), Amberley Jo Aumua (director), and Louise Tu’u (writer) – previously sitting members continuing this term are Louisa Tipene Opetaia, Miliama Setefano and Aaron Taouma who continues as Executive Director and administrator. PIFT Wellington representative Mishelle Muagututi’a is on the board for the purpose of running and reporting back on the Wellington network and its activities. The board also retains a link to previous board members as the PIFT advisory. This includes; Sima Urale, Ali Cowley, Lisa Taouma, Stan Wolfgramm, Tony Fuemana, Yolande Ah Chong and Simone Fa’alogo.
