The Nuku’alofa Film Fest started in 2015 as the first ever independent film festival for Tonga. It was established by Sisi’uno Helu, Vea Mafile’o, Emily Mafile’o and Jerry Tauamiti, aiming at showcasing locally produced films, artistic performances and documentaries. It also wishes to encourage local and aspiring film-makers to tell their stories.
