Pasifika Film Fest Launches Aotearoa | Pift Pacific Islanders in Film & TV

Pasifika Film Fest sets the stage showcasing Pasifika films in Aotearoa.

PFF started in 2013 in Marrickville, Sydney, as an initiative by two Pasifika University students (called Pasifika Film and Arts Festival). Initially they had noted the difficulty in seeing any Pasifika films in Sydney and wanted to do something about it.  Since those beginnings, the festival has grown exponentially and was re-branded to become the Pasifika Film Festival in 2015. In 2016 the festival was on in Sydney and Brisbane playing to enthusiastic houses.

In 2017 Aotearoa is set to feature this showcase in Auckland and Wellington.

Showing with Event Cinemas and at the grand Embassy Theatre while in Wellington the festival features two Aotearoa premieres as well as opening with a premiere event in Auckland’s Queen Street Event Cinema on Wednesday 15th Feb with a showing of the powerful doco Kumu Hina.

Auckland 15 – 19
